Work Package 5: Promotion and diffusion of membrane technology research in the Mediterranean area
WP5 will be completely devoted to the diffusion and dissemination of the successful experiences and research activities being carried out currently, in order to encourage the further research activities in membrane technologies. The dissemination plan includes four main tools: (1) ProMembrane Regional Fairs: in Homs-Syria (congregating the Middle East countries) and Cairo-Egypt (congregating the North African region); (2) ProMembrane International Conference in Sfax-Tunisia; (3) ProMembrane Website and the (4) ProMembrane Conference Proceedings Publication. This WP will establish joint strategies and foundations to ensure future collaboration and the continuity and self-funding of the network after the project time.
Objectives
The aim of WP5 to support the current research activities in membrane technology for water treatment in the Mediterranean region, to promote and facilitate the dissemination, transfer and exploitation of results of current and past research, by the organisation of regional fairs and a final conference, and to encourage the permanent participation of young scientists in the field of membrane technology.
Its specific objectives are:
- To establish and manage the ProMembrane website, magnifying the scope of the dissemination.
- To organise two Regional ProMembrane Regional Fairs in Homs-Syria ( ME- Middle East) and Cairo-Egypt (NA- North Africa).
- To organise two Scientific Contests “ProMembrane Young Scientist Award”, in the frame of the Regional Fairs, in order to stimulate young scientists in the membrane field.
- To organise an ProMembrane International Conference in Sfax-Tunisia, in order to gather different stakeholders and scientists related to membrane research in the Mediterranean Region.
- To publish and distribute a ProMembrane Conference Proceedings Publication.
- To develop different joined activities in order to consolidate the project into a Network.
