The primary objective of ProMembrane is to support the current R&D activities in membrane technology focused on water and wastewater treatment in the Mediterranean region. The project started on the 15th of August 2006 and the members of the consortium gathered in Bremerhaven, Germany in September at the Kick-off meeting.

 

Since then the consortium has been working on the Mapping of current research exercise and the General report of current research in MT in the Mediterranean Region has been delivered. Furthermore, the Public Library has been launched in August 2007, including three databases: documents, experts and events.

 

Also in August 2007, the first year of the project has been completed. The mid-term meeting was held in Homs, Syria on the 10th of September 2007.

  

During the second and last year of the project, WP3 and WP4 will be performed, and the two Regional Fairs (Homs, Syria: 9-11th Sep and Cairo, Egypt: 29-301st Oct, 2007), as well as the International Conference (4-8th May, 2008) will take place.
