The Biotechnology Research Centre of Sfax has a highly qualified kernel of researchers, who develop and industrialize projects dealing with biotechnology in the Tunisian context. The CBS has about 40 highly skilled academic employees and has infrastructure necessary for realizing projects, e.g. large pilot-plant laboratories. Amongst 4 laboratories, the Laboratoire of Bioprocesses has experience in biological pre-treatment of industrial and urban effluents and has been studying Membrane Technology for several years. Membrane technology is actually applied at real scale for treating industrial wastewater in Sfax.
