Every two years the Aachener Membran Kolloquium is organised by the Institut für Verfahrenstechnik (ivt) as forum for industrial membrane applications in Germany and Europe. In about 20 talks given by invited speakers, mostly commercial industrial membrane applications and experience in operation thereof are presented and discussed. As well in 2003 as in 2005, about 300 participants approved the large interest in the need for such discussions.

It is the Institute's particular concern not only to inform about current membrane applications and trends but also to enable and encourage open discussions among developers, producers and end-users. Thus, the Aachener Membran Kolloquium is accompanied by an exhibition of membrane companies and a poster session of current research activities in the field of membrane technology.
