Regional Fair in Egypt
The second Regional Fair of ProMembrane project was held in Cairo, Egypt on 29th and 30th of October 2007. The National Research Center, as the local Partner, organised this event. The Fair was the scenario for research centres, local universities, and young researchers to present their current research activities in the membrane technology field.
More than 200 participants were registered in the fair. They were mostly from Egypt, but other participants were also from different countries including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Morocco, Libya, Kuwait, Italy and USA as well as ProMembrane partners from Germany, Italy and Syria.
Key note lectures were given by experts from the partner institutions of the ProMembrane project. During the Fair, applicants to the Young Scientist Award had the opportunity to present their work. A poster session was also organised. Meanwhile, local exhibitions took place. They varied between the use of membrane technology for surface water treatment for drinking using the solar energy, drinking water purification, to the laboratory equipments that serve for the water and wastewater analysis
